Courtney Stebner

Clinical Psychologist

My Approach

My approach is rooted in a psychodynamic understanding of how our past shapes our present, often in ways we're not fully aware of. I draw from Jungian psychology, particularly inner child work and shadow work, which help us reconnect with unmet needs, hidden strengths, and forgotten parts of ourselves. I also integrate Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), which encourages us to slow down, tune into our emotions with curiosity and care, and view them not as problems to fix, but as meaningful messengers.

By combining these approaches, we gain deeper insight into unconscious dynamics and defenses, and how they shape our current patterns of behaviour. Together, we’ll explore these emotional and relational patterns with compassion, helping you create space for healing and integration. This process supports greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a more authentic connection to yourself and others.

Individual Therapy

I offer a supportive, confidential space to address challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship issues. Using evidence-based practices tailored to your needs, we’ll uncover what's keeping you stuck, strengthen your inner resources, and develop practical tools to help you navigate your inner world and relationships with clarity and confidence.

Couples & Relationship Therapy

I help couples at all stages—from dating, marriage, co-parenting, or separation—improve communication, rebuild trust, and deepen connection. Whether you're facing conflict, intimacy issues, life transitions, or simply want to strengthen your bond, my approach is collaborative and deeply rooted in understanding the emotional dynamics between partners.

I also provide affirming, non-judgmental support for non-monogamous, polyamorous, and other alternative relationship structures. Together, we’ll navigate communication, boundaries, jealousy, and emotional insight to help you build intentional, values-aligned connections.

About me

I'm a trained clinical psychologist with a Master's degree from the IPU in Berlin, and my path in mental health has always been deeply personal as well as professional. Over the years, I've worked in a range of settings, from social work and crisis intervention to substance abuse rehabilitation, experiences that continue to shape how I show up in the therapy room.

Since moving into private practice I have had experience working with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, trauma, grief, and relational challenges. As a queer- and poly-friendly therapist, I’m committed to supporting LGBTQ+ and non-monogamous clients in exploring their identity and relationships without fear of judgment.
