Frequently Asked Questions
-
Psychedelic integration is a process of reflecting on and making sense of experiences with psychedelics or other altered or expanded states of consciousness.
An integration session can provide space to explore what came up during an experience, understand new perspectives or emotions, and consider how insights from the experience might relate to everyday life.
At Ōsmos, practitioners approach integration in different ways, drawing on practices such as counseling, somatic work, coaching, mindfulness and other therapeutic approaches.
-
Not necessarily.
Some Ōsmos practitioners support people before an anticipated experience as well as afterwards. Others also work with experiences arising through meditation, breathwork, retreats or other practices that have significantly affected how you understand yourself or your life.
If you are looking for support around a specific type of experience, check the individual practitioner's profile to find someone whose approach matches your needs.

Psychedelic preparation is the process of preparing for a psychedelic experience with intention, reflection and appropriate support.
Depending on the practitioner, preparation may include exploring your intentions and expectations, considering practical and emotional safety, identifying resources and discussing ways to approach the experience with greater awareness.
Preparation does not involve providing or administering psychedelics. It is a form of supportive work around the experience.
-
There is no single format for an integration session.
You may talk through what happened during your experience, explore emotions or memories that arose, reflect on changes in perspective, or look at how the experience connects with your life and relationships.
Some practitioners may also incorporate somatic awareness, mindfulness, Compassionate Inquiry, coaching or other approaches into the session.
The aim is to create space for reflection and help you explore what the experience means for you and how you might carry relevant insights into everyday life.

Gestalt therapy is a humanistic and experiential approach to therapy that focuses on your experience in the present moment and on becoming more aware of your thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations and ways of relating.
Rather than focusing only on analysing the past, Gestalt work can explore what is happening for you here and now, including patterns that emerge in the therapeutic relationship.
At Ōsmos, Gestalt therapy is offered by practitioners with their own individual training and approach.
-
Yes. Gestalt therapy can be used to explore specific difficulties as well as broader questions around self-awareness, relationships, emotions, identity and personal development.
You do not necessarily need to arrive with a clearly defined problem. A session can also provide space to become more aware of patterns in your life and explore new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Not sure who to choose?
You don’t need to know exactly what kind of support you’re looking for. Tell us a little about what’s bringing you here, and we’ll help you find a practitioner whose approach feels like a good fit.
